Still Looking

I am back in Shanghai again for an other weekend and soon on my way back to California. For those who don't know, Shanghai is just getting through a windy Blizzard and Califonrnia has rain. If you happen to find this blog because of its name, you did get the name right, just wrong blog location. You can find my on-going blog here. So if you continue reading below, you will soon find out why I have two blogs with the same name, Singular Images.

First, setting up this blog in China is a part of my blogging test for blog access in China. What I have found is that you can use the Chinese version of Blogger to set up a blog, but unless you know how, you can't see your Blogger blog in China. Not permitted!

But my regular blog is on Wordpress, but I can't administrate my Wordpress blog while I am in China! You can see the sign-in for Wordpress, but the blog blocking of China will not allow my administrative page to load. And I have tried!! For over two weeks at the end of last year and another two plus weeks this year.

But I am getting closer to solving the China accessability issue, which regretfully, I will be writing about on my other blog, but after I complete that, I will throw a link to it here. But that will not be until the middle to end of February. Meantime you can read my current thoughts on www.exposurecompensation.com, a friend blog that I was a guest contributor.

So what about the image with this post? For the first two trips to China, I did not connect what I saw and photographed with a cohesive project. So I just experienced, photographed and thought about what I saw. On this third trip, I did connect. I have two current China projects that are in process and this image might go with either one.

First series is 'Wo Zhi Kankan', which translates from Mandarian to English as 'I'm just Looking'. So of a unrestricted 'see it, photograph it' process. Second series is a little more complex, 'Liu Guan Lue Yin' which means 'Flow of Light brush the Shadow'. The second series is more of a glancing look and the resulting lingering memory. Two very differenct series.

So if you would like to read more, remember, move on to www.singularimages.wordpress.com

Best regards, Doug
